So, Copy.com just opened up and is offering 15gigs of free cloud based storage to anyone that signs up. Plus, if you sign up with a referral, you’ll get another 5gigs! That’s 20gigs just for signing up. What’s the catch? You just have to install their backup tool, which is available in all OS flavors: pc, os, linux, ios, android. So far, their mobile client isn’t that bad and it DOES allow you to specify what files you want (rather than picture-folder or video-folder).

They’re a new company that is supposed to have better security on the backend. Plus, they decided that the 2gigs or so that you get from Box or Dropbox isn’t enough to do anything with. So they’re out in the world, now, to compete with those guys, but they need help getting a client base, so to speak.

Anyway, to signup, use this link:

Google Maps found some people dumping a dead body into a large pond in the Netherlands. Okay, we don’t know how true it is, but the fact is that it is a satellite image directly from Google and their maps providers, so that cuts down on the idea of it being Photoshopped. Anyway, here’s the details:

Being from Kentucky, we do things a bit differently and sometimes, those things might make us stick out. For example, when the bell hop holds his hand out and says, “Is there anything else, sir?” don’t shake his hand, pat him on the shoulder, and tell him to have a nice day. Over the last five years, I’ve been to Las Vegas at least twice a year and I like to think that I have a grip on what to do and expect now. I wanted to share that info with you.

For some reason, you might want to un-root your nice little “Actually Working” HTC Hero (maybe selling it to vendor for buying a new phone). Here is some information on how to do so.

It’s been a couple of months now since I rooted my HTC Hero and I gotta say it’s been one of the best things I did for my phone. It works almost flawlessly (randomly drops GPS and sometimes restarts but that’s not a big problem). It reacts to what I tell it to do, it makes calls when I want it to, it’s just a hell of a lot better than using that damned original OS that came with it. So my new endeavor is to now update the PRL on my phone (Preferred Roaming List) so that I can get the most out of the tower signals as possible. Unfortunately, the CM7 mod doesn’t have the ability to update the PRL, so does that mean I’m at a loss?

Nope, and here’s how…

Need extra space or just want to watch some movies on your TV through your PS3? All you need is an External HDD. USB drives are cheap now and can be available anywhere up to 3TB. However, before you go running off and getting one, you need to know that there are some issues. They’re not super huge issues, but it is enough to make you want to pull your hair out if you don’t have the tools to quickly fix it.
Wanna know more? Well, here’s how…

Over this past weekend I decided that I would go ahead and try to “fix” my PS3 by flashing the recovery partition on it with KMEAW’s Custom Firmware for version 3.55. The reasoning is that while I trust friends of mine that I loan my games to that they won’t break them, I don’t trust their pets to not eat the discs or slobber all over them. If you’re wondering, CFW (or custom firmware) allows you to use backups of your games in case they get destroyed, however, be advised, that if you use CFW and you go to the PSN, there is a high chance your PS3 will get flagged as ‘modified’ and then you WILL be banned from the PSN.

When Sprint initially announced their partnership with Google and their first Android powered phone, I was super happy. This was the phone to get, this was the phone to move to! Yeah……..2 months after the release of the HTC Hero, Sprint released the 4G Evo and dropped all development on the Hero. It wasn’t until after 6 or so months that the first update for the Hero came out followed by Sprints official announcement to stop supporting it.

For anyone that has an HTC Hero, you’ll soon learn why this is the greatest phone you’ll love to hate. The more you use it, the more it eats itself up. By that I mean that it degrades the battery, the response of the OS becomes more and more sluggish, and it generally makes you want to throw it across the room. With Sprint offering no help for it other than the official statement of “Power off and back on”, what do we do?

Enter CyanogenMod….and here’s how to bring new life to your Hero.

Ever wanted to move your music collection, or listen to it from anywhere in the world without having to re-download all those tracks? Well, now you can…sort of. Google is bringing us the Google Music hub (beta right now) so that we can have a central location to listen, stream, categorize, and (I use the term loosely) store our music. But what’s it mean for the end user? Well, let’s find out.

Ventrilo is a chat program that is used by many online gamers to talk to each other. There are many uses for Ventrilo, but the primary remains to chat with people. One of the subjects between people who use this program is how to stream music to others in the channel. I’ve searched the net and compiled a listing of the two best ways (well, three if you count the very low-tech way). Hit the button to find out more info.
